When I tried auto-setup using my alias, the setup would not work. In doing so, it seems that you must go through the auto-setup process*, and you must use an address for it to work. Yesterday I got a message that I needed to "reconnect" because of the upgrade. However, in the desktop Outlook, I have to choose this address every time I compose an email, there seems to be no way to set a default. I have my personal domain email address set up as an alias on my Microsoft account, and it is set as the default "send from" at. I am using as my exchange server, and the latest Outlook desktop as my client.
